Having been called a “wonderful composer” and “sophisticated player” as well as “one of the most unique guitar voices to emerge over the last decade”, Brandon Coleman is an on-the-rise and in-demand performer in the world of creative guitar playing.
Based out of Cincinnati, OH, Coleman performs and composes music that is intricate, personal, and cinematic, inspired by his musical idols and his roots in the Appalachian mountains.
Coleman’s main projects are currently original jazz fusion powerhouse Spherical Agenda, his contemporary jazz groups Brandon Coleman Trio and Quartets, and NYC-based chamber jazz group Wistful Thinking, led by trombonist and composer Sam Blakeslee.
Coleman has appeared with notable musicians and ensembles such as The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops, Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, The Marvelletes, The Drifters, Il Divo, Dan Pugach Nonet, Nicole Zuraitis and many others.
As a session musician, you can hear Coleman’s guitar across many records, as well as soundtrack for television and film, notably including the soundtrack to celebrated TV series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Coleman has performed at notable venues including – but not limited to – Smalls Jazz Club, The Blue Wisp Jazz Club, Bop Stop, BluJazz+, Bar Next Door at La Lanterna, 55 Bar, Club Bonafide, The Jazz Estate, Cliff Bell's, Rudy's Jazz Room, Jimmy Can't Dance and Merriman’s Playhouse. His festival appearances include the Loja Jazz Festival (2012) in Loja, Ecuador, the 2014 CBGB Festival in NYC, and the 2014 and 2016 Columbus Jazz & Rib Fests.
