029 Neighborhood Montessori School - A Parent Perspective
October 31, 2019
We talk with a parent about his experience and his children's experience in a neighborhood Montessori school. We hear about how the school begin, the role of the parents in making it happen, the benefit for the children and for the neighborhood.
Guest: David Knutson
In 2008, David’s twin daughters turned three years old and started pre-school at Pleasant Ridge Montessori, a public neighborhood school in Cincinnati that had just opened a new building as part of a school restart. David joined a large group of committed members of the community to envision and enact a Montessori school that was open to all children in the enrollment area. He served on numerous parent/teacher committees, and chaired the PRM Local School Decision Making Committee for three years. His daughters are now enrolled at Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati.
David is a Professor of Spanish at Xavier University
