Celebrating 50 Years of Women Students at Xavier
1969-2019

In support of the Xavier Way, Fr. Graham SJ has asked the heads of certain centers and academic programs (Mission Animators) to come together to create more integrated programming across the campus. To do so, the group has chosen the theme of WOMENfor the 2019 calendar year. With a generous gift from an anonymous Xavier supporter, proposals for projects and activities that will enhance "Celebrating 50 Years of Women Students at Xavier" are sought.

PROPOSALS are invited from faculty, staff and students for projects taking place during the calendar year 2019 on the topic of women and related issues (see below). The goal is to fund a variety of projects that are imaginative and engage broadly the Xavier community and may include the general public. We are able to fund proposals between $300-$5000; although exceptional plans with greater financial need will be considered.

Preference is given to projects that will reach a number of students, faculty, staff and community members. Projects are not limited to, but may include, on-campus events (public talks, panels, information sessions, film screenings), community-engagement, and service learning. We are not looking to fund scholarship projects, but projects connected to scholarship are welcomed. Since funds are limited, collaborative projects and shared/supplementary funding is encouraged.

While WOMEN is the theme, we intend for it to lead to a broad array of events and projects, such as those that:
- can be connected to class, race, gender, equality, identity, social/family/working role, global status and other areas of intersectionality.
- relate to the history of women (and women's history) or the history of Xavier, more generally.
- add to regular/annual departmental/college/University events by celebrating, honoring and/or recognizing women.

The 1-page proposal must include:

· a 1-2 sentence abstract

· a project description

· a detailed budget

· a budget number and the name of the budget administrator should the proposal be funded

Proposals should be sent to mission-identity@xavier.edu with "Women at Xavier" in the subject line.

Rolling review begins October 1, 2018 and continues until allocated funding is depleted.
