Ms. Tsvety Karaivanova
Director of International Recruitment
(She, Her, Hers)
Next time you're in the Gallagher Student Center, stop by my office to say say "hi"; I always have a bowl of delicious chocolates on my desk to share! My name is Tsvetoslava Karaivanova, but everyone calls me Tsvety (probably because it's easier to say). As an International Student Advisor, I am more than excited to be a part of the Xavier Community and have made it my mission to be a great resource and influence for International Students in the Xavier Family . While my home country is Bulgaria, I came to the U.S. in 2005 to study at Northern Kentucky University and have certainly made a life and career here in the tristate area. As a former international student myself, I have experienced many of the challenges and opportunities international students at Xavier face.
I received both of my degrees from NKU - a BA in Criminal Justice and Pre-Law, and a MS in Executive Leadership and Organizational Change. Prior to my work at Xavier, I spent 4 years working in Development for NKU. I'm passionate about working at a higher education institution, it allows me to stay connected to people from all over the world. Since moving to the U.S., I have lived on both sides of the Ohio River, but you'll currently find me living in No. Kentucky with my husband Latif; he is from Ghana and we met at NKU. When not at home, I'm across the river, at my favorite neighborhood of our Queen city; Over the Rhine, there you'll find me eating a yummy meal at a trending restaurant, while planning my next travel adventure!
