Micro market to open in HUB
October 11, 2019
The new café to serve students, employees and visitors in the Health United Building will offer a wide variety of grab-and-go, ready-to-eat foods in a self-service market space. Think small convenience story with no cashier that instead has a self-service checkout kiosk similar to those at Kroger.
The Market C Micro Market will be supplied and serviced by AVI FoodSystems, which currently provides vending machine services for Xavier. Food choices include salads and sandwiches, refrigerated and frozen meals that can be heated in microwave ovens provided in the market space, as well as candy, chips, snacks, cold drinks and a self-service single-serve coffee machine.
AVI describes it as an "innovative high-tech self-service convenience store providing a new, fresh approach to food and beverage services." View a video of an AVI Micro Market.
The café will be located on the first floor of the HUB on the right side of the main area from the Cleneay Avenue entrance, directly across from Health and Counseling Services. It will be secured with door access and cameras but accessible via ALLCard during the same hours that the building is open.
Located inside the new Recreation Center, the Micro Market will open when the rec center opens on the first day of the spring semester in January.
