  • HTHW 100: Intro to Health Professions & Working Interprofessionally — Introduction to allied health professions and the importance of working together collaboratively with an initial interprofessional experience. (3 credit hours)
  • HTHW 260: Sociocultural Aspects of Health — With a focus on cultural competence and the social determinants of health, students will learn about what makes us human and how to address this uniqueness in various settings. (3 credit hours) 
  • HTHW 310: Lifespan Health and Disease — Students will examine the impact of physical activity and exercise on individuals across lifespan stages including those with chronic disease. This course prepares students to consider the differences in both fitness- and health-focused professions. Additionally, this course will provide an overview of health issues and disparities that affect special populations. (3 credit hours)
  • HTHW 370: Professional Preparation for Health Sciences — Students will learn about professional development, networking, branding and marketing themselves and social skills as needed in health and wellness. (3 credit hours)

  • Institute for Healthcare Improvement Chapter — This student-led organization is dedicated to improving healthcare quality and safety through workshops, seminars and discussions. Students from various healthcare disciplines (medicine, nursing, pharmacy, etc.) come together to foster collaboration and teamwork.
  • Pre-Med Student Association — The Pre-Med Student Association is a club for students interested in pursuing a career in the health professions. The club works to unite, educate and empower future health professionals by bringing in speakers and providing information about careers and insight from upperclassmen. There is also a Pre-Dental Society for students planning a career in dentistry.
  • Women in Healthcare — This club supports women in healthcare majors by creating opportunities for social, educational and personal growth.
