James E. Pawlukiewicz

Dr. Pawlukiewicz first joined Xavier in 1989. He was awarded the rank of Emeritus Professor of Finance when he retired in the fall of 2023. During his thirty-four years at Xavier, Jamie taught classes in the areas of managerial finance, financial modeling, and valuation. He conducted extensive research in option pricing, and mergers and acquisitions, publishing in numerous professional journals, including Financial Review and Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting.

Jamie was chair of the Department from 1998 to 2007. During his tenure as Chair, he established the Department’s first Board of Executive Advisors, initiated and managed the college’s Distinguished Speaker Series, and established the Department’s first student investment fund and trading room.

Dr. Pawlukiewicz holds a B.S. in Business and Economics, an M.S. in Economics, and a Ph.D. in Finance.
