Dr. Brian Russ

Dr. Brian R. Russ, LMHC, NCC, DCMHS is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling at Xavier University. Brian has over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, serving in a wide variety of clinical and administrative positions. During his clinical career, Brian helped develop and provided clinical oversight to a medication-assisted treatment program and led a county wide trauma-informed care initiative. Brian has presented at national conferences and published in the areas of adolescent counseling and medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. A Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Indiana, Brian earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Western Michigan University, and he is an AMHCA Diplomate and Clinical Mental Health Specialist in child and adolescent counseling.
