Student Learning Outcomes for Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity Program

  1. Students will be able to break down the problem, gather information to solve it (including recognition of reduction possibilities), generate possible solutions, test solutions, evaluate results.
  2. Students will be able to construct, follow and explain logical arguments by appropriate justification.
  3. Students will be able to evaluate, learn and use appropriate languages, software, or hardware to solve problems.
  4. Students will be able to clearly communicate ideas, solutions and arguments in writing.
  5. Students will be able to clearly communicate ideas, solutions and arguments orally to and within groups
  6. Students will be able to find relevant resources/literature, use appropriate skills and tools to extend previous or create new solutions.
  7. Students will demonstrate an understanding of cyber defense, threats, and security design principles, including analyzing systems to explain design principles needed and violated, and the actions that can be taken to exploit and defend the systems.
  8. Students will demonstrate an ability to use and create tools for monitoring, exploiting, and defending systems.
  9. Students will demonstrate an ability to clearly communicate cybersecurity information, including legal issues, the analysis of a system, severity of security flaws, and prioritized recommendations.
