Mission

In a world that is increasingly diverse, complex, and interdependent, Xavier's Center for Innovation seeks to engage students with mission-aligned ventures and opportunities while fostering interdisciplinary experiential learning at the university.

Three Strategic Pillars:

  1. Student Enterprise
    • Helping students gain valuable innovation and entrepreneurial real-world experience
    • Programming
      • Internships at small businesses, start-ups, and social ventures
      • Coaching and mentorship to help start a business
      • Student-run businesses
      • Physical space, workshops, access to alumni
    • Provides real-world experience that enables and prepares all student types for success in the world of innovation and entrepreneurship
  1. Mission-Focused Innovation & Entrepreneurship
    • Where students learn about the intersection of Jesuit values and innovation & entrepreneurship
    • Focuses on our core Jesuit values and ethical approach
    • Creates engagement between key Xavier internal organizations and local community organizations with a common mission, core values, and objectives in innovation & entrepreneurship
    • Addresses issues such as environment, racial injustice, poverty, healthcare, etc.
  1. Experiential/Signature Programs
    • Efforts that focus on Xavier’s experiential learning approach
    • Leverages the expertise of our internal university assets and external resources
    • Engages alumni involvement and support
