Professional Mentor Program
Being a student Mentee is an opportunity to experience, understand, and learn from your Mentor's personal and professional experience, knowledge, and skills. The one-on-one mentoring relationship allows for individual attention to your career aspirations, professional development, and networking needs. Goals and Objectives
- Develop resources and tools to make informed career decisions.
- Through coaching and feedback, develop leadership, teamwork, creative thinking and interpersonal skills.
- Advise on personal growth, academics, and career topics (including possible career paths).
- Provide a forum for the observation, practice and mastery of professional networking skills.
Eligibility
Undergraduate Students
- Be a second or third year student -- or a graduate student -- with at least 2 full semesters remaining until graduation
- Minimum 2.25 GPA
- Attend an Information Session or Orientation
- Submit online application after attending an information session
History
Since its inception in 2003, the nationally known Mentor Program has matched over 2,500 students with executives & career professionals in the Cincinnati area and throughout the United States. The Program serves Xavier students of all majors and collaborates with Mentors from more than 560 different organizations.
The Xavier Professional Mentor Program is managed by Career Development, whose mission is to "connect, educate and empower" students.
