Kurt Hollender

Dr. Kurt Hollender serves as Xavier’s Assistant Director of Experiential Learning. Hollender received his Ph.D. in German from New York University and B.A. in Modern Languages and Literatures from Kenyon College. Before coming to Xavier in 2025, he served as a German professor and the Head of the German Section at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University in Minnesota. As the Assistant Director of Experiential Learning, Hollender is Xavier’s main point person for reporting on and expanding student access to experiential learning (internships, job shadowing, study abroad, undergraduate research, and other outside-the-classroom learning opportunities).
