Julie Hoffmann, MBA
Senior Teaching Professor, Business Analytics and Information Systems
Julie Hoffmann is a professor in the Business Analytics and Information Systems department since 2018. Julie completed her MBA at Utah State University in 2008. She completed her undergraduate degrees at Miami University in Mathematics/Statistics and Secondary Education. She brings ten years of business experience in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors.
While working for a fast-growing company called Conservice; she specialized in data management and process improvement. She designed an invoicing software program for customized products that reduced production time by 75%. She also significantly reduced costs in other areas of finance through ROI analysis and data visualization.
While working with United Way of the Desert as the Director of Finance and Administration, Julie was able to update and modernize many internal processes involving implementing upgrades to software and hardware. Many external and internal processes were implemented as paperless including database analysis and improvements, implementing on-line applications for assistance, and financial analysis. Julie currently sits on the Board of Directors for United Way of the Desert. She is available for consulting and enjoys spending time volunteering as well.
Julie believes in the importance of traveling abroad and experiencing other cultures. She completed her student teaching for mathematics and statistics in Germany. She also spent two years teaching in Ghana, West Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer. During that time, she founded a mathematics club and an HIV/AIDS awareness club with students. She was also selected to train incoming volunteers.
In 2018, Julie moved back to her hometown of Cincinnati in order to teach at Xavier University. She lives with her two amazing children, Ramsey born in 2010 and Delilah born in 2012. They keep her busy with all of their activities. They share her love of traveling and going on adventures. They love to do anything outside including hiking, camping, biking, swimming, canoeing, rafting, sledding, soccer, and climbing.
