Entropy and The Human Condition by Matthew Nichols

Xavier University and the Department of Art are pleased to present a Solo Exhibition by Senior Art Major Matthew Nichols, October 29-November 19, 2021.

Matthew Nichols is completing his senior year at Xavier University where he is majoring in Fine Arts with concentrations in both Sculpture and Drawing and minoring in Professional Education. An Interdisciplinary artist, Matthew will be presenting a body of illustrations and sculptural works in his first solo exhibition titled, Entropy and The Human Condition. He asks viewers to take time to reflect upon their connection to the universe around us and all that connects us. Sculptures portraying the artist from youth to old age will presented. His digitally painted portrait series is a reflection on impermanence from both his perspective and the perspectives of individuals in different fields of study and profession. He plans to pursue a career in art education.
