Kaitlin M. Newkirk, CPA, MACC, MST

Assistant Professor

Kaitlin Newkirk is a member of the Accounting Department at Xavier University where she teaches ACCT200 (Introductory Financial Accounting), ACCT311 (Introduction to Taxation), and MACC616 (Flow-through Entity Taxation).  She earned her BSBA from Xavier University in Accounting and BA in Spanish.  She earned her Master degree in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati.

Kaitlin is a CPA and has over a decade of prior work experience focusing on taxation at Deloitte, Barnes Dennig, and The Gorilla Glue Company.  She strives to provide experiential learning opportunities for her students and has created projects for students to engage with professionals through interviews on ethics and a field project shadowing tax advisors.  In addition to teaching at Xavier, she serves as faculty co-advisor to Accounting Society, a student organization, and advisor to the Ohio Society of CPAs Student Ambassador.  Her research interests include taxation, financial accounting, and pedagogy to aid in student learning.

Kaitlin resides in Cincinnati with her husband and two sons.  She enjoys traveling, cheering on her children in sports, and spending time with her family.
