Alumni Benefits

ROI

What is the Return on Investment of the MBA? While this is probably the most important question for you, your family, and your employer as you consider applying, it is also the most difficult question to answer.

Statistically speaking, Xavier MBA graduates have realized a 66% increase in salary after graduation. In fact, as a reflection of the confidence in the fine-tuned skills of the student, the majority of XMBA students receive a promotion and/or raise while in the program. In addition, according to an international study conducted in 2007 by Percept Research on behalf of the Executive MBA Council, “on average, it takes 17 months for a company to gain its return on the investment it made.” (For more information on the research conducted by the Executive MBA Council please visit www.emba.org.)

Despite the numbers that we try to associate with earning your MBA, the one true fact is that the value of your education, and in particular a Masters in Business Administration, is immeasurable. It’s difficult to put into numbers the amount of knowledge and skills you will gain. It’s even more difficult to measure how that knowledge and skill will translate into a return. While you will see quick results from the moment you start the program, the true value of your education at Xavier will be much clearer in the long run.

We encourage you to ask our alumni how valuable their Xavier MBA has been to their careers. We’re confident you’ll hear positive results.

Executive MBA Alumni Profiles

Tracy Wright, Executive MBA Class of 2007

“After receiving my BS in Psychology from Xavier in 1989, I found myself in business management in one form or another throughout my career.Rising through the ranks of Avon Products to Director, I had a wealth of practical, on the job knowledge, but no formal business training. In order to contribute to Avon at a higher level and continue to advance, I needed to take the next step. I turned to a university that I loved and had served me well and entered Xavier's Executive MBA program. The program was challenging and rewarding, both from the perspective of learning from the course content to exposure to the diverse professionals that were my classmates and friends. The time commitment was intense, but the Xavier staff made everything as convenient as possible for busy professionals. Now I'm ready to contribute and compete at my full potential.”

Tom Stevenson, Executive MBA Class of 2007

“In order to become president of the 81-year-old graphics company my great-grandfather started, I needed additional business knowledge and skills. However, to complement my years of senior management experience, I wanted more than a traditional MBA program. That’s when I learned about the Executive MBA program offered by the Williams College of Business at Xavier University. The program is designed specifically for executives. You earn your degree in just 19 months by attending classes one day a week. The work is tough, but the people at Williams take care of a lot of the details. They gave me what I needed. Now, thanks to what I learned, I’m being promoted to President and COO of Stevenson, The Color Company.”

Networking

Your strongest network will be among your group of 25 to 35 students that complete the program with you. However, once you graduate, you’ll be joining a family of Xavier alumni with global influence. In fact, you’ll be among the 60,000 plus Xavier alumni; 13,000 or more are Xavier MBA alumni including the 1,000 plus XMBA alumni. We encourage you to connect and stay connected with fellow Xavier graduates and students in addition to the multiple opportunities to network with executives and alumni from other organizations through our various events on and off campus.
