Corporate University

No one in the Williams College of Business ever said that learning stops at graduation. That’s why there’s the MBA program. But not everyone wants or needs an MBA, which is why this fall the University brought the Xavier Leadership Center (XLC)—the training and professional development arm of Xavier—under the umbrella of the college. Graduate degrees, continuing education courses, certificate programs and custom-tailored business solutions are now part of a one-stop operation available to local businesses. XLC recently expanded its offerings through the creation of a Corporate University program, which includes a Leadership Foundations certificate program that was previously only available to individual clients. The intensive, yet flexible, eight-day program focuses on topics such as personal leadership, implementing organizational strategy, leading change and achieving results through others. “XLC has been developing and implementing leadership programs for clients privately for several years,” says Bruce Miller, XLC’s managing partner. “Given the market need, it makes sense to offer the same program to a broader audience.”
